FAQ

Questions people ask

Can't find your answer? Ask SELF DOC, our assistant, in the chat.

Is the self-check really free?

Yes. It's free, takes about 3 minutes and you don't need to create an account.

Is this a diagnosis?

No. It's a screening tool based on the Oral Health Assessment Tool (OHAT). It shows what might be going on and how urgent it is. Only a dentist can diagnose after examining you.

Who sees my answers?

Your answers are saved for our dental team so they can follow up with you. They are not shared publicly.

Can I do the check for someone else?

Yes. Choose "Someone I care for" at the start. It works well for children, older parents or people in residential care.

What if it's an emergency?

The check asks about emergency signs first. If there is spreading facial swelling, trouble breathing or swallowing, or heavy bleeding, call 1990 or go to the nearest emergency department straight away.

Can I see my results again later?

Yes. On the same device your chat and results are kept, and you can print or save them as a PDF.
